Surprisingly enough, the couple we've spent the most time with thus far were introduced to us by way of Craigslist. We e-mailed them because we were interested in their entry-way table (which we never even purchased from them). They gave us some great advice on local furniture stores and restaurants - and we decided just to meet them at a local restaurant due to their kind prompting. We've met with Chris and Dalene twice more since, and it has really been fun getting to know our "Craigslist" friends. We've made it a point to try new restaurants with them, even though we've had them over and vice-versa.
Our other new friends are from Zimbabwe. Jorum and Eva, and their children Adrian and Roseanne, are so freshing and kind. Sarah has watched the kids - much to her delight - and they had us over for Eva's birthday, where they served an African dish called "Sadsa." I love hearing stories about Africa - the life of his church, his ministry to orphans, the wildlife, the heartache. He keeps saying, "I love Africa, man. You must visit" which has increasingly piqued my interest.
