Friday. We found out that we have a spot on campus at Gordon Conwell!!..............on September 1st. That would be a week before the semester starts and a month after our projected arrival date, leaving us homeless for a month. We scrambled to find some sub-leasers and only got a hold of one good option, where we could stay until August 23rd, and then try to find somewhere to land for a week before we could move into our new home. Stressful.
Sunday. We finally bought a digital camera! It's a Nikon CoolpixL12 and we got it for $149.99 from Office Depot.
Monday. Gordon Conwell housing informed us that they now have an apartment in a nicer building (a little more $$) available August 10th. We decided to jump on that option, and just delay our move for a week. Sarah's amazing boss has allowed her to "come back" for a week after our cruise between the 16th and 24th. Then, that evening I received a court summons in the mail set for August 6th - we knew I'd need to fly back to Colorado to resolve some legal issues, but we will already be there on that date. Now Sarah can come with me and we don't need to shell out $300 on a ticket. Seriously, this couldn't have worked out better if we tried. Thanks, Jesus.
Tuesday. Broke in our new camera by photo-journaling my last day of class/finals. After booyah-ing all over my Botany final, Sarah and I went out and celebrated.
I still have quite a few obligations. A few lingering assignments, lots of grading for Brad, Prokope curriculum, preparing for my family to arrive for graduation. But Portland has given us sunshine and some experienced freedom. Pictures?
The camera is introduced to a human face - Adam McInturf's, even.
